Srinagar, Apr 7: A woman employee of HDFC Bank committed suicide by hanging herself at home in North Kashmir’s Sopore town of Baramulla district.
The deceased lady’s brother Adnan Bhat, who hails from Telian Mohalla locality of Takyabal in Sopore, said that yesterday morning they found her dead in her room. “Like every morning, my mother went to my sister’s room to wake her up. But despite knocking there was no response. My mother then entered the room and found my sister lying dead,” he said.
Adnan said his mother informed other family members and after rushing to deceased’s room, they found a suicide note. In the note, he said, my sister had named and blamed a cluster head of HDFC Bank for her suicide. “She had written that the senior officer was torturing her during office hours,” Adnan said. The family of the deceased lady said all they want is ‘justice’.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Sopore, Harmeet Singh said that they received information about the suicide of the lady yesterday morning and police immediately rushed to the spot. “We conducted post-mortem of the body and a suicide note was also found wherein the lady had accused cluster head for forcing her to take the extreme step,” he said.
The SSP said police have already registered a case and investigation has been set into the motion. “We will do FSL of the suicide note and also call detail analyses. Only then we can reach to some conclusion,” he said.
