JAMMU, July 20: Bank employees and officers of Jammu spearheaded by Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation observed the 46th Bank Nationalisation Day today.
On this occasion a large number of Bank employees and officers gathered at the federation office in a mass meeting. The meeting was attended by employees from all the local bank branches, besides some employees having come from the rural areas of Jammu as well.
The meeting was presided over by Com Vijay Zutshi, Vice-President JPBEF, and was conducted by Com Arun Kumar Gupta, general secretary JPBEF.The meeting started with paying floral tributes to bank employee’s leaders H L Parwana, Prabhatkar and Tarkeshwar Chakraborti, the icons who led the employees struggle for bank nationalization 46 years back.
Incidentally the bank employees also observed the day as demands day, and put forth their demands.
They raised the demand which are to stop banking sector reforms, no privatization of public sector banks, recapitalize and strengthening of public sector banks, stringent measures be initiated to recover the huge bad loans, amend laws to declare willful default as criminal offence, declare kingfisher airlines as a willful defaulter and take criminal action to recover the loan dues of Rs 7000 crores and making banking a fundamental right.
On this occasion employees and officers present also took pledge to improve the customer service in banks and repulse the anti-labour/anti-poor reforms in banking sector.
The meeting among other was addressed by  Ashwani Pradhan,AIBOA,  Ganesh Kumar,  R K Bamba,  Manjeet Singh,  T K Tikoo, Nariani, Dr Mohd Ashfaq, Kamal Kumar,  Gurdev Singh,  Rakesh Gupta,  Rama Kant,  Dinesh Gupta,  Shivani,  Sanjeev Lamba,  Adarsh Gupta,  Vinod Gupta, Pankaj Sharma , Nazir Ahmed and  V KPandita.
