RAMBAN, Mar 19: A bank employee has been assaulted by two masked men in Ward Number 4 area here late last night.
As per police sources, a J&K Bank employee namely Veer Bahadur, son of Jai Chand, a resident of Ward Number 4 near Cafeteria Morh was watching match, when two masked men knocked the door of his house.
The bank employee opened the door and two masked men forcibly entered into his house.
The masked men took the bank employee’s wife hostage on a knife point and demanded cash. A scuffle between the masked men and the bank employee took place.
During scuffle, the accused hit the bank employee with an iron rod on his head and later escaped from the spot.
The profusely bleeding bank employee was shifted to District Hospital Ramban, from where he has been discharged after treatment.
A case under FIR Number 40/18 under Section 458, 394 and 398 RPC has been registered at Ramban Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
