LUCKNOW, July 14: Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) supremo Mayawati daring the judiciary for banning the religious based parties like RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) and Bajrang Dal for inciting communal hatred in the society, today announced that her party will continue to hold rallies on the name of Sarv Samaj to end the disparities within society.
Reacting sharply on the decision of the Allahabad High Court banning holding of caste based rallies or meetings recently, Ms Mayawati said organisations like RSS, VHP and Bajranj Dal were working against the Constitutional norms by creating bitterness in the religion but no one dares to take action against them.
” HC has said caste rallies were against the Constitution but inciting religious hatred is also against the Constitution. Will the court ban the RSS, VHP and Barjang Dal for working against the Constitutional norms,” she questioned while addressing a news conference here.
However, defending the party’s caste based rallies and claiming it to end the existing disparity within the caste and societies, the BSP president said now her party will hold ‘Sarva Samaj Bhai-chara Committee’ meeting in place of the caste rallies.
She further said the BSP was doing social work by holding such caste based rallies to uplift the social backwardness in the society but some people with vested interest are trying to derail the BSP’s effort.” BSP is the only political parties holding such meeting and there is no political interest of the party in it. Our only goal is to create a sarv samaj and it will continue till the disparity faced by the Schedule Caste/ Scheduled Tribes and Backwards ends,” she further added. Meanwhile, Ms Mayawati also opposed the Supreme Court judgement on banning the politician from contesting elections who have been convicted for two years.
” Such decision will have negative impact and I appeal to the Central government to go for an appeal against the SC ruling,” she said.
Ms Mayawati also criticised the BJP and the Congress for trying to take communal path for garnering the vote bank before the Lok Sabha elections.
“Both the BJP and Congress leaders were going to Faizabad and Ayodhya to launch their election campaiging in UP. The move itself is a proof that both the parties are trying to create communal tension in the country before the elections,” she alleged.
She appealed to the Supreme Court to take notice of the statements made by the political leaders and act accordingly to prevent communal division before the Lok Sabha elections.
However, condemning the statement of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on the 2002 communal riots, she said, “India is a secular country and claiming himself as a Hindu nationalist by any leader is not acceptable,” she said.
Supporting the issue of a separate state of Telengana after burification of Andhra Pradesh, she said the BSP will support the division of Andhra Pradesh. But she also urged the Centre to look into BSP’s demand for burification of UP in four parts.
THe BSP supremo also warned the Centre to be serious on the issue of Chinese intrusion in the bordering areas.
“The Centre should be serious and all efforts should be made to protect our international borders,” she said.
On the occassion, she also gave last warning to party MP from Hamirpur Vijay Bahadur Singh, who has recently supported the statement of Narendra Modi.
“Though it was a personal view of the BSP MP but still he was given the last warning or he will be thrown out of the party,” she said, while adding that the party has already rejected the candidature of Singh in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
