Kanwal Tigers outplays Khazir Royals by 65 runs

JAMMU, July 14: Kanwal Tigers defeated Khazir Royals by 65 runs, while match between Surya Risers and Cemtac Stars remained undecided in the ongoing Big-GK Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL) at Bijbehara and Kashmir University Grounds, here today.
At Bijbehara, Kanwal Tigers defeated Khazir Royals by 65 runs in an easy contest.
Batting first, Kanwal Tigers scored a formidable total of 170 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Obaid Lone top scored with power-packed 72 runs off 44 balls, studded with 10 fours and one six, while Nasir Want contributed 44 runs off 34 balls. Sajad Sofi and Rockey Ratta chipped in with 25 and 19 runs respectively. For Khazir Royals, skipper Samiullah Beigh, Mujtaba Rizvi and Manzoor Wadoo claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Khazir Royals were bundled out for 105 runs in 16.4 overs, thus lost the match by 65 runs. Imran Haroon, Manzoor Wadoo and Samiullah Beigh scored 24, 21 and 18 runs respectively. Mudasir and Aamir Sofi scalped 3 wickets each for Kanwal Tigers, while Abid Mushtaq claimed 2 wickets. Obaid Lone was adjudged HDFC man of the match. He was also awarded for hitting maximum sixes also.
Meanwhile, the match between Surya Risers and Cemtac Stars remained undecided.
As per the reports reaching here, needing 163 runs to win, Cemtac Stars were 151 for 9 in 18.4 overs, when medium pace bowler Nitin Mehra bowled a wide on which the two batsmen ran to get out. However, there was a confusion as to was the ball wide or a dead, which forced the organizers to decide the fate of the match in the meeting to be held tomorrow.
Earlier, batting first, Surya Risers scored a decent total of 162 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Pranav Gupta was the top scorer with 61 runs, while Bansi Lal contributed 38 runs to the total. Suhail Ahmed took 2 wickets for Cemtac Stars.
Cemtac Stars, in reply rode on a superb innings of 68 runs from Manish Dogra to score 151 runs in 18.4 overs when controversy occurred. For Surya Risers, Nitin Mehra and Rompy Sharma bagged 3 wickets each.
