Balwant to hold festivals of J&K in South Africa

JAMMU, Dec 31: Balwant Thakur-the director Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Johannesburg (South Africa) is holding festivals of Jammu & Kashmir in South Africa in the year 2021.
This was informed by him this afternoon at the headquarters of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre at the city of Johannesburg. Giving details Balwant Thakur informed that festivals of J&K are being held in five major cities of South Africa including Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Nelspruit and Johannesburg in the last week of March 2020.
“These will be unique festivals which will have diverse range of events including showcasing of strength of cultural diversity, vibrancy of handlooms and handicrafts, discourses on J&K and delicious cuisine of the region. A 50-member contingent is planned to be invited for its participation in different range of events,” Thakur said.
The director SVCC said that a process has already been started and he is personally visiting each city and proposed venues to have a close look review to professionally design the festivals. All efforts will be made to ensure a world class quality of the festivals and events will be curated in such a manner that this festivals leaves a lasting impact on the International audience, he added.
