JAMMU, Dec 8: Senior Congress leader and party candidate for Marh constituency, Balwan Singh today urged people not to vote for “divisive and regressive forces” in the State.
While addressing a public gathering at Lohri Chack of Marh Block, Balwan said the Congress-led Government during Azad’s tenure as Chief Minister of the State gave a new paradigm of development and governance which was characterized by all-round and equitable development, efficiency, transparency and a people-friendly image.
He urged people of his home turf and the rest of the State to vote decisively in favour of him for development.
“We (Congress) made development as a narrative and discourse in the State between 2006-08 and dispersed the fruits of development in every nook and corner of the State,” Balwan Singh said.
Balwan exuded confidence that the people of his home turf will stand united against the conspiracies being hatched by outside forces to divide them and urged them to help him in fulfilling his dream of converting the area into a Model Constituency of the State.
He exhorted the people to extend their full support to Congress party, saying this will be support to the forward looking policies and programmes being implemented by Congress Government.
He promised people of the constituency that if elected or blessed by people with their votes, he will not let people suffer any more, by misdeeds of the wrong policies of the Government due to which people are still suffering.
