Bali for replicating Sulabh model in health institutions

JAMMU, Apr 28: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today visited Police Hospital Gandhi Nagar  and took stock of its functioning.
IGP (Tech) H.K. Lohia, Principal Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr. Zahid H. Geelani, Administrator GMC, Babila Rakwal, Executive Engi-neer, Ashok Singh Choudhary, Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital, Dr. Wasik Rasool accompanied the Minister.
The Minister inspected all units and wards of the hospital and issued necessary instructions to the hospital administration for further improving its functioning. He called for ensuring proper upkeep and cleanliness of hospital and its entire premises. He appreciated the initiative of the administration for outsourcing the maintenance of hospital toilets and washrooms to the Sulabh agency and said that the same model needs to be replicated by other health institutions in the State.
The Minister urged the Principal and Administrator of GMC to explore possibility for adopting the Sulabh model in the Medical College for proper upkeep of its toilets and washrooms. He said sanitation of health institutions is a big issue that needs to be handled appropriately by all the heads of the institutions.
IGP and Medical Superinte-ndent briefed the Minister about the overall functioning of the hospital.
