Bali kick-starts blacktopping of Gurah-Barnai road

JAMMU, Dec 13: Maintaining the tempo of infrastructural development in Raipur-Domana constituency, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today launched blacktopping work at Gurah Barnai near here.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that road connectivity is amongst the top most priorities of the Government and all the existing roads will be taken up for upgradation in a phased manner in the constituency. The tendering process for most of the link roads in the constituency has already been completed and works would be taken up as per schedule.
Pointing finger on previous regime for ignoring this important constituency on development front, the Minister said that the area remained neglected for over six decades with the result the people suffered immensely. He said the present Government will ensure all round development to make the Raipur-Domana a model segment in the State. He sought people’s cooperation in the development process and asked them to provide necessary feedback on the local needs so that the Government can fix priorities accordingly.
The Minister called upon the engineers and contractors to ensure quality of work strictly as per the new specifications, adding that the lapse if any, will be viewed seriously. He also asked the locals to personally supervise the quality of work to ensure the durability of assets.
Several prominent citizens and BJP leaders including, Omi Khajuria, Madhusudhan Sharma, Pawan Slathia and concerned engineers were present on the occasion.
