Bali inaugurates free Eye Camp at Sure Chack in Raipur-Domana

Govt to organize state-wide free medical/awareness camps  on World Health Day

JAMMU: To mark the World Health Day-2018, falling on 7th of April, the Department of Health & Medical Education shall undertake a State-wide awareness campaign to educate the masses, especially in rural and far-flung areas about the healthcare,  various diseases and preventive measures.

On this occasion, the department in collaboration with some credible social/religious organizations/NGOs shall organize free awareness-cum-medical camps across the State, with special focus on slum areas, poor bastis at block level for the benefit of people living in these areas. Besides free consultancy, the department will also provide free medicines, lab tests on the spot to the patients and also give them useful tips for living a healthy life.

This was informed by the Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat after inaugurating an Eye Camp organized by the Tawi Welfare Society, an NGO in collaboration with the health department at Sure Check in Raipur-Domana  here today. He said that under this special initiative, the department will try to reach out to the people, especially to poor and downtrodden sections of the society at their doorstep to provide healthcare and useful consultancy on health and sanitation to save them from multiple ailments.  He said that both the Directors Health Services, Kashmir and Jammu in coordination with all   Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers will devise a well-knit mechanism to organize such camps at the identified areas for the marginalized sections of the society so that the benefits of the camps reach out to the most deserving ones. The concerned CMOs/BMOs will also ensure wide publicity of the event so that maximum patients turn up to avail the benefits of the camps, said the Minister.

Lauding the role of the Tawi Welfare Society for its philanthropic services , the Minister said that the society is doing yeoman’s service in helping   the poor and destitute for the past over two decades in different fields. He called upon the other social organizations (NGOs) to organize such camps for the poor people and help them to lead a dignified life in society.

He said Government is committed to help such endeavours  and always ready to collaborate   to provide necessary support. He wished all success to the organizers for their future endeavors.
