MENDHAR, Oct 13: The villagers from Darati and adjoining areas of Balakote forward location are facing severe shortage of ration for the last over three months.
Former Sarpanch from this village, Shadam Khan alleged that CAPD Department has failed to provide ration to the villagers living along the fence at Darati and adjoining hamlets of this border block. There is no supply of food grains and sugar for the last several months. The only depot at Balakote remains close and the public is facing severe shortage of ration, he added.
He further alleged that neither Tehsildar Mendhar or concerned TSO of the area bothered about the issue. He appealed to the DC Poonch and Director CAPD Jammu to take notice of the issue and provide ration supply in this LoC belt. The villagers alleged pilferage in the ration and also demanded inquiry.
