Bakaya urges Govt to hold Assembly elections

JAMMU, Oct 17: Apni Party’s general secretary and senior Kashmiri Pandit leader, Vijay Bakaya urged the Government to ensure the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest in a public rally in Khour area, here today.
He also asked Apni Party leaders and workers to remain in touch with the masses at the grass root level and enhance their public outreach in their respective areas.
Besides Vijay Bakaya, the prominent leaders including Arun Chibber, Faqirnath, Bodh Raj, Abhay Bakaya and Kulwant Singh were present during the event. The programme was organized by District president (Rural), Pushp Dev Uppal and his team.
While addressing the rally, Bakaya said, “In a democracy, people have the right to elect their own representative and they should not be deprived of this right for a longer period of time. The Government must ensure Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest so that people can send their elected representatives to the Assembly.”
He also urged the party cadre to prepare for the elections and remain in touch with the masses in their respective areas. He said, “Apni Party is a party of the masses, we ought to be in touch with people at the grassroot level.”
He appealed to workers and leaders to keep themselves available to serve the people and ensure the public issues and grievances are brought to the notice of the concerned officials for a quick redressal.
