JAMMU, Jan 30: Vijay Bakaya, former Member of the State Legislative Council, met Governor N. N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Bakaya discussed with the Governor several issues relating to the need for ensuring the rapid socio-economic development of the State. He also raised certain matters relating to the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits.
Governor urged Bakaya to devote the highest priority to guiding and counseling youth to prepare themselves for assuming leadership roles in the coming years. He also stressed the high importance of maintaining peace and normalcy in the State and urged Bakaya to continue his sustained efforts towards the attainment of this goal.
Meanwhile, Governor and members of the Raj Bhavan Secretariat staff and security staff observed two minutes silence at 11 am today to pay homage to those who had sacrificed their lives in the struggle for India’s freedom.
