DEHRADUN : The sacred portals of Badrinath temple in Garhwal Himalayas will be reopened on April 26 after their five-month closure for winter.
The temple gates will be thrown open to devotees at 5.15 am on April 26, Pandit Acharya Krishna Prasad Uniyal said.
The auspicious timing for the reopening of the famous Himalayan shrine was decided on the occasion of Basant Panchmi today in the presence of priests, members of the erstwhile Tehri royal family, Dimri community representatives and Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee Chairman Ganesh Godiyal, Uniyal said.
The doors of the temple dedicated to Lord vishnu were closed for winters last year on November 27. (AGENCIES)
