RAFIABAD, Aug 26: Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today cautioned the people against the political forces who have always lured them with emotional slogans and have no respect for national integration or sympathy with common man. “Whenever elections are in sight these regional parties exploit innocent people on issues of accession with India, autonomy or self rule and during elections these forces become more active and come to forefront to attract the people by selling dreams that are far from reality and also doesn’t leave any opportunity to befool people but once they come to power, they forget all these issues and adopt dormancy till in possession of power,” Vakil said.
He urged people to understand regional politics of emotional exploitation which can never be beneficial to them. He said that there can’t be takers for hatred and violence in a civilized society which needs to be adopted by us and cautioned people to be vigilant against politics of exploitation and regionalism. Mr. Vakil was addressing public meeting at Balhama Rafiabad in district Baramulla today.
While addressing the gathering Mr. Vakil said fast development and all round progress of backward and far-flung areas is agenda of Congress party and added historic decisions and remarkable initiatives taken to realize the goal is witness to it. He said that creation of new districts and administrative units has changed the fortune of citizens of state. He said It was due to sincere efforts of Ghulam Nabi Azad who inculcated the work culture of double and triple shifts so that people of the State could experience a massive change, infrastructural development in short period of time, Vakil said and reiterated that Azad’s contributions both in the capacity of Chief Minister of J&K and Union Minister are exceptional and remarkable.
Mr. Vakil said Azad’s 2½ year tenure as Chief Minister of J&K State can be laminated as an unforgettable developmental era. “His historical decisions like creation of eight districts, implementation of Roshni Scheme, construction of Yatri Niwas, Haj House, and Legislature Complex etc or his contribution as Union Health Minister by sanctioning five Medical Colleges, cancer hospitals and many other health centers, sub health centers display the visionary ability of this great leader.
Besides others who addressed the gathering include Ghulam Nabi Shah, Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan, Pandit Brij Nath Nehru and Bashir Ahmad Sheikh.
