JAMMU, Oct 18: Leader of Opposition Rajya Sabha and former CM of J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad, JKPCC President and former Minister GA Mir paid tributes to former MP and veteran Congress leader Janak Raj Gupta in a ‘Shradhanjali Sabha’, organized at Udas Marg Sanstha, RS Pura.
Former Deputy CM Tara Chand, Former Ministers Raman Bhalla, Sham Lal Sharma, RS Chib, Jugal Kishore, Balwan Singh, Gulchain Singh Charak, Yogesh Sawhney, Former BJP MLA Gharo Ram Bhagat, Ex-MLA’s Krishan Lal Bhagat, Ashok Sharma and Balbir Singh, NC Leader Taranjit Singh Tony, PCC District President Chopra ji, Namrata Sharma, Rajneesh Sharma, Vikram Malhotra, Maheshwar Singh, Thakur Hari Singh, Ved Bhagat, Mahatma Ji and Raj Mata from Udas Marg Sanstha and various other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, senior Congress leaders remembered Janak Raj Gupta as a true mass leader and a stalwart who always worked for strengthening the party. They also paid floral tributes to the late veteran Congress leader.
The programme started with an introductory note by Sahil Mahajan, Janak Raj Gupta’s younger son.
The speakers including Kirtan Singh, Deedar Singh, Ganesh Dutt, Sunil Sharma and Ex-SSP Sardar Bhupinder Singh, Sudesh Bhagat, Comrade Swaroop Singh, Camrace David, Chaudhary Manmohan, Virender Gupta, Banarsi, family members, party leaders and workers narrated their share of experience with Janak Raj Gupta. His sister, Dr Neelam Saraf dwelt on his journey that started from RS Pura and the achievements all through his political career.
GA Mir announced that Janak Raj Gupta’s son Vicky Mahajan has been inducted into JKPCC’s Executive Committee and would play a key role in party functions.
In his keynote address, Ghulam Nabi Azad threw light on the life of life of Janak Raj Gupta and apprised the gathering with the efforts of the Gupta, which he made to make JKPCC successful on all fronts in J&K
In the end, vote of thanks was given by Vicky Mahajan. –
