AWWA, FICCI FLO JKL organize entrepreneurship talk

UDHAMPUR, May 4: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Chapter (FLO JKL), under the leadership of chairperson Varsha Bansal, conducted an engaging and insightful session for the Army Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) at Northern Command Udhampur, further strengthening its commitment to women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship.
FLO JKL has been closely associated with AWWA under the leadership of Shinei Sharma, Regional president, AWWA Northern Command, working collaboratively to support and uplift Army spouses through meaningful initiatives.
The session featured two accomplished women entrepreneurs. Varuna Anand, National Initiative Head for Textile, Handlooms and Handicrafts at FICCI FLO, shared her inspiring journey of building The Splendor of Kashmir. She elaborated on her distinctive module of selling through curated stand-alone exhibitions alongside a strong digital presence, where social media has played a transformative role in brand building.
With a community of over 3.5 lakh followers on Facebook and 47,000 on Instagram, she highlighted how strategic storytelling, consistent engagement, and authenticity have enabled her to scale her enterprise while preserving the rich legacy of Kashmiri craftsmanship. Her address encouraged women to recognize their strengths and translate their passions into sustainable and scalable enterprises.
The session was conducted under the leadership of Vandana Nair, chairperson, Talent & Entrepreneur Committee, AWWA Northern Command, who has been instrumental in creating platforms that nurture talent and entrepreneurial aspirations among Army women.
