JAMMU, Aug 21: In an effort to reach out to the Veer Naries of Kashmir valley, a Veer Naris interaction was held by Gurmeet Kaur, Regional president AWWA, Chinar Corps at Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre.
The aim of the interaction was to honour the Veer Naris and address the issues concerning them. They were also educated on various welfare schemes in vogue for the benefit and welfare of Veer Naris. Various counters were established by agencies like DPDO, Pension Cell and Zila Sainik Welfare Board to address the grievances and problems of Veer Naris and to disseminate latest information on various policies of State and Central Governments affecting them. Representatives of all the agencies were present at the venue and assisted the Veer Naris in resolving their problems. All Veer Naris were also provided with medical and other facilities.
Gurmeet Kaur, Regional president AWWA, Chinar Corps, felicitated the Veer Naris. She addressed the gathering and complimented the Veer Naris for their over whelming response. She also urged the Veer Naris to draw maximum benefit from the interaction as it was organized basically to resolve their problems and to keep them abreast with the recent schemes/policies being issued by various Government agencies for their welfare.
She added that the interaction was a way of expressing the genuine concern of the Army towards the family of those who laid down their life in service to the nation.
