JAMMU, Dec 22: One day Awareness Programme on Packaging for Export was organised by MSME Development Institute (J&K) Ministry of MSME, Government of India in association with J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Jammu at JKEDI, Jawahar Udhyog Bhawan, Rail Head, Jammu.
During the programme about 50 existing MSME unit holders besides budding entrepreneurs and representatives of various Government departments participated.
The programme started with introductory speech of Virinder Sharma, Director MSME Development Institute, J&K, Jammu, who explained the importance of packaging in the present scenario of exploring the possibilities of spreading the local products globally under the view and vision of “Make in India”. He assured full support of his department in the field of export and the packaging of products.
Dr M I Parray, Director JKEDI while speaking on the occasion discussed about the value and need of packaging. He stressed the participants to take maximum benefits of such programmes organised by MSME.
Rajesh Jain, chairman Federation Chamber of Industries, Jammu stressed on his fellow MSME unit holders to maintain the standard of the products as well as its packaging so as to make them competitive globally.
Technical session of the programme was covened by Dr Tanvir Alam, Joint Director, Indian Institute of Packaging, New Delhi. Dr Tanvir exposed the participants to different aspects of packaging, its need and importance to explore the possibilities to spread the local products of the State to all over the world.
The programme was coordinated by Venu Ji Koul, Programme coordinator, MSME DI Jammu and anchored by Shashi Raj, MSME DI Jammu.
