Awareness program on central schemes for SC, BC entrepreneurs organized

JAMMU, Nov 19: To promote and create awareness about the VCF-SC, VCF-BC and CEGSSC schemes of Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) in the newly formed Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, IFCI Ltd and IFCI Venture jointly organized a conference for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Backward Classes (BC) entrepreneurs.
The gathering was addressed by Dr Emandi Sankara Rao (CEO and MD of IFCI Ltd), Milind Kamble (founder chairman of DICCI), Shivendra Tomar (Head VCF), Shakti Kumar (MD, IFCI Venture), B B Sahu (MD, MPCON), Sanjiv Dangi (president DICCI North India), Rehana Betul (Director General Social Welfare J&K), Dr Naheed Soz (MD, J&K Women Development Corporation), Dr Bharat Bhushan (MD, J&K SC OBC Corporation) and R K Kalsotra (J&K president, Indian Chamber of Commerce for Affirmative Action).
Shivendra Tomar presented the details of all the three schemes viz. Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes (VCF-SC), Venture Capital Fund for Backward Classes (VCF-BC) and CEGSSC to the participants present in the conference from across J&K and clarified all their queries regarding the schemes.
Dr Emandi Sankara Rao addressed the participants and highlighted the benefits of schemes for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and encouraged the prospective entrepreneurs from the SC and BC community to avail the benefit of these schemes.
Stating that till now, VCF-SC has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 331.55 crore to 93 companies and disbursed Rs 232.88 crore to 75 companies owned by SC entrepreneurs across the country while VCF-BC has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 12.63 crore to 4 companies owned by BC entrepreneurs across the country, Dr Naheed Soz and Dr Bharat Bhushan encouraged the participants to avail the benefit of these schemes.
The entrepreneurs who attended the event interacted with the State Corporation officials, industry officials, SC/BC/Women Development Corporations/Associations, DICCI officials and officers from IFCI & IFCI Venture. The participants got clarifications and inspiration to avail benefits of the schemes of Government of India.
