JAMMU, May 30: The NSS Unit of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, organized an awareness programme on animal-human relations, here today.
Animal activist Malvika, was the resource person on the occasion who gave a power point presentation on animal-human relation.
She spoke at length on various aspects of animal-human relations, role played by animals in serving mankind and maintaining ecological balance on one hand and their plight and exploitations by humans on other hand. She underlined the need for a playing a more ethical role towards their care and protection.
Principal of the College, Dr Kiran Bakshi, appreciated the efforts of Malvika for her concern about animals and bringing awareness about their protection and care among masses. She also distributed literature on animal- human relations among the participants.
A large number of staff members including heads of various departments attended the programme.
Prof Shrotika Rajput, NSS Programme Officer, conducted the proceedings of programme whereas NSS Programme Officer, Dr Ashaq Malik co-ordinated it.
