Aug 27 last date for enrolling Kashmiri students: APSCC

KARGIL, Aug 21: Till August 27, admissions are open free of cost  for all students, whether Kashmiri or Ladakhi, who are stranded in Kargil due to the prevailing situation in Kashmir valley.
This was informed by  All Private School Coordination Committee, while addressing a press conference, here today.
“It is the collective responsibility of the society to rise up to the occasion and so far more than 90 Kashmiri students have been admitted in various schools of Kargil,” said Hajjatul Islam Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi, chairman of APSCC and president of Islamia School Kargil.
However, he added, owing to infrastructural limitations, the Private schools won’t be able to entertain requests for more admissions from August 27, 2016.
While drawing attention towards the present turmoil in Kashmir valley and its effect on the education of students, studying there, he reiterated the support of Private schools and said that the student will get free of cost education which is a contribution from the educational society of Kargil towards the affected students of Kashmir.
On this occasion, the In charge Chief Education officer Kargil, Mohammad Iqbal said that the Education Department Kargil has circulated a circular and instructed all the schools of Kargil, including the Private Schools, to enroll the students affected by the present turmoil of Kashmir in their schools.
Mohd Iqbal added that the students will be enrolled only after registering themselves with the camp office (Jaffaria Academy of Modern Education Kargil) of the All Private Schools Coordination Committee so that they will have a data of students being provided free education.
The press conference was also attended by the Secretary All Private Schools Coordination Committee Kargil, Anwar Ali, Chairman JAME and MHMS Kargil Gulzar Hussain Munshi, Chairman Pioneer Public School Kargil Mohammad Iqbal Wani, Principal Pioneer Syed Abul Hassan, Principal JAME Kargil, Principal Mutharry Public School Baroo Murtaza Khalili and Principal Mutharry Public School Bazzar Kargil.
