Attendant beats up lady doctor at CD Hospital, case registered

Srinagar, Jan 7: A lady doctor at Chest Diseases Hospital was beaten by one of the family members of a man who died after being terminally ill.
After the incident, the concerned doctor has filed a complaint with the police following which a case has been registered.
The doctor in her complaint has stated that she was beaten mercilessly by the attendants of a terminally -ill patient from Baramulla.
“It happened at around 10 PM on Wednesday, I was in my room when attendants enraged by the death of his patient barged in and started beating and dragging me by my hair, leaving me with swollen head and face and also fracturing one of my fingers,” the doctor stated in her complaint.
She added that they also assaulted a security guard who was later on taken to Bone and Joint Hospital for treatment has also suffered multiple fractures.
“The patient was a case of right lung malignancy of stage-IV and they (attendants) wanted him to take back home, but he succumbed”, she said.
As per police, a case against the attendants vide FIR number 03/2022 under Sections 332, 353 and 354 of IPC has been registered and an investigation set in motion.
