Attempts to smuggle bovine animals foiled, eight arrested

JAMMU, May 13: Nagrota, Sidhra and Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled attempts to smuggle bovine animals and arrested eight persons.
As per police sources, teams from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh, Police Post Sidhra led by SI Majid Hussain and Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid check points in their respective jurisdictions and intercepted eight Kashmir bound vehicles.
During checking, police teams rescued 66 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested eight persons, who were identified as Mohd Nazim of District Reasi, Mohd Rafiq of District Reasi, Jamal Din of Parnote District Ramban, Mohd Ashraf of Chenani District Udampur, Noor Din of Pogal Paristan District Ramban, Mohd Younis of Kansi Phata District Reasi, Mohd Shaqoor of Kansi Phata District Reasi and Mohd Yousaf of Chapper Tehsil Dansal.
Cases under relevant Sections were registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
