KATRA, Oct 19: Katra Police today foiled an attempt of liquor smuggling to the holy town and arrested a bootlegger. 90 quarters of J&K Excise liquor were seized from his possession.
Police apprehended the accused, namely Yousaf son of Abdul Ghani of Matyal Katra at PCP Balni when was coming towards Katra town in his Van, bearing registration number JK02M-2254, in which the liquor was kept.
Police arrested the accused and registered a case FIR number 236/2019 U/S 48 Excise Act, 188 RPC at Police Station Katra. The arrest and recovery was made by SHO PS Katra Inspr Pardeep Gupta, who was assisted by ASI Mohd Ashraf, I/C PP Balni.
