REASI, May 8: In a major success against forest-related crimes, Police today foiled an attempt of smuggling Khair logs during routine naka checking in the Katra area.
Reports said that the police party intercepted a Mahindra Bolero vehicle, bearing registration number JK21B-0008 at Sarna. On inspection, the vehicle was found loaded with approximately six quintals of Khair logs.
Police seized the logs and apprehended driver of the vehicle, identified as Saber Hussain, son of Shuker Din of Chapanoo, Reasi.
The seized vehicle along with the driver were later handed over to the Forest authorities for necessary legal action under relevant forest and environmental laws.
