Attack on Shah’s road show: BJP leaders meet Vice-Prez

NEW DELHI: A BJP delegation called on Vice-President and Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu here on Wednesday and informed him about the violence during the road show of party president and Upper House member Amit Shah in West Bengal.

The delegation, including Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar, Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Goel, General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni, GVL Narasimhan and Rakesh Sinha, met Mr Naidu at his residence and submitted a memorandum.

In the memorandum, the leaders expressing concern over the attack, said there was breach of privilege.

Mr Javadekar said that the security of members of Rajya Sabha is the responsibility of the House and the Chairman.

In the memorandum, the party demanded appropriate action and a report on the matter. (AGENCIES)
