This has reference to the news item ‘Govt orders cancellation of attachments in School Education’ DE Feb 4.
The decision to cancel all the attachments of Government School teachers, deputed with different schemes and divisions in the Directorates is a step in right direction. By making teachers available in schools, the teaching process will receive a big boost. There are various schools in the State which suffer due to shortage of staff, particularly in far flung areas. Most of the schools in these areas do not have subject teachers as a result the quality of education is below standard. The students coming out of these schools usually fail to compete with students coming from urban schools. The rationalization of staff is a must and it should be given priority.
It is also suggested that the teachers should not be engaged in any kind of duty like election duty, census duty, Aadhar card making duty etc.
These duties hamper the smooth functioning of schools. Hope these suggestions are taken into consideration.
