JAMMU, Sept 16: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee /Soan Kashmir Front was held today at Jagti township Nagrota Jammu under the chairmanship of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita.
Addressing the members urged the UT and Central Government that the package employees /non package Kashmiri Pandit employees who have been appointed by the Government in Kashmir Valley should be attached to the Relief Department until the bloodshed in Valley stops.
Pandita said that due to poverty relief holders are unable to bear the expenses of their school and college going children. He said that the relief holders can’t even buy medicines for the sick due to poverty.
He urged the Government to increase the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 for per family per month as soon as possible.
Pandita said that for the last three months there is no ration in the migrant ration depots due to which migrant relief holders are facing difficulties .Pandita said that nine kg of rice ,two kgs of flour per soul and one kg of sugar for one family were given free of cost by the Government to migrant relief holders which has not been given to them for last three months due to which the relief holders are on the verge of starvation.
Pandita appealed the Lieutenant Governor to issue instructions to the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) Jammu and Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to release three months ration to migrant relief holders.
