Srinagar, Oct 8: Gover-nment is contemplating to terminate 36 employees, including Assistant Registrar of Kashmir University, from services for fomenting trouble in Kashmir and have slapped Public Safety Act (PSA) on six of them.
Sources said that the dossier against 36 Government employees for fomenting trouble in Kashmir and inciting youth to violence has been prepared and it is lying in Chief Secretary’s office for final decision to terminate them. However, the final decision is to be taken by the political leadership.
The State Government is invoking Article 126 of Jammu and Kashmir Constitution for terminating these employees. Before invoking the Article 126, they are trying to make water tight cases against them so that they may not get relief from the courts easily.
Out of these 36 employees, 20 are from Education Department, 3 from Food and Supplies Department, two each from Revenue, Agriculture and Public Health Engineering Departments and, one each from Rural Development Department, Animal Husbandry, Accounts and Treasuries, Fisheries, Forest, Health and Fire and Emergency Services departments.
Majority of these employees, 10, are form North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, nine from Baramulla district, six from Anantnag, four from Budgam, three from Shopian, two each from Kulgam and Bandipora districts.
Eleven employees to face termination are from worst violence hit South Kashmir and 21 are from North Kashmir and four from Central Kashmir. No one from Srinagar, Pulwama and Ganderbal are among these employees who face termination.
Four of these employees have been arrested and booked under Public Safety Act (PSA), it has been slapped on two more but they are evading arrest, five have been released on bail and 25 are yet to be arrested.
Majority of these arrested employees who are yet to be arrested are evading arrest and as per the dossier are continuously fomenting trouble and instigating youth to create trouble.
Police have registered a case (FIR No. 93/2016 and 94/2016 in Police Station Dooru in district Anantnag) against Assistant Registrar of the Kashmir University for instigating youth for protests that has led to voilence.
Two employees, one each from Education and Food and Supplies Departments from Shopian district of South Kashmir have been found in participating the protests rallies and have been booked under PSA and have been sent to Kot Bhalwal Jail Jammu.
Two employees, one each from Education and Agriculture Departments from Kupwara district of North Kashmir have been found in participating the protest rallies and have been booked under PSA and sent to Kot Bhalwal Jail Jammu.
