JAMMU, Jan 20: An Assistant Professor died today under mysterious circumstances in the premises of Government Maulana Azad Memorial (GMAM) College, Jammu.
According to a police official, the deceased has been identified as Poonam Sharma (42) wife of Charan Dass Sharma, resident of Sainik Colony. He said that the deceased lady was working as Assistant Professor in GMAM College, Jammu.
He said in preliminary investigation it has come to fore that while checking examination papers at her workplace, the lady suddenly collapsed today at about 3 PM. “Her colleagues immediately rushed her to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared her as brought dead,” he added.
The official said the body of the deceased was sent for postmortem while inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated by police post Nehru Market.
