JAMMU, May 7: The Assistant Commissioner (Relief) J&K, Kailash Devi, has requested the SSP Jammu to register an FIR against a Jagti resident for allegedly posting derogatory comments on social media against the Relief Organisation and Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrant) Jammu.
As per the official communication addressed to the SSP Jammu, Sunil Bhat, an employee of Gupta Shoes, RS Pura, and a resident of Migrant Camp Jagti, allegedly posted comments on a Facebook video uploaded by a news platform, accusing the Relief Commissioner of making illegal allotments of shops and accepting bribes for allotments.
The letter stated that the remarks had tarnished the image of the Relief Organisation and Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner.
It further alleged that through his social media activities and other inputs, the accused was instigating people against the Government-notified Special Relief Ration Card Scheme and encouraging actions that could create public disorder.
The department maintained that the allotment of shops at Jagti was carried out in a transparent manner on the recommendations of a committee of senior officers.
It also said the department was open to any inquiry by a Government agency into the allotment process. The communication requested police to take strict legal action against the accused for allegedly defaming a Government institution and senior officer.
