Assist police to save society from social evils: DIG Jammu

SAMBA, Nov 1: DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Ashkoor Ahmed Wani requested the people to assist the police for saving the society from social evils.
He stated this during a meeting at Bari Brahmana, which was attended by large number of prominent citizens, political leaders, Sarpanchs and Panchs from various parts of Bari Brahmana and Parmandal block.
DIG Jammu was accompanied by Joginder Singh, SSP Samba.
During the meeting, Saleem Choudhary, Board Member, Aquaf Islamia, Ramesh Chander, Vijay Singh, NC leader, Hardesh Kumar Dutta, Ekta Shakti Pradhan, Chander Shekher from Parmandal, Chhaju Ram, Hem Raj from Parmandal, Rajiv Gupta, Tej Ram Dogra from PDF and Avtar Singh also expressed their views and shared some traffic related problems. People from Parmandal area also reported that their ZEO and CDP offices are operating from Kunwani and Bari Brahmana respectively due to which they face problems for their concerning issues.
While speaking, SSP Samba Joginder Singh requested the participants to assist the District Police in saving precious lives from some avoidable road traffic accidents. He said parents should advise their children to avoid rash and negligent driving and also ensure that their children bear crash helmets while driving two wheelers. He also said the activities of children and youth should be monitored, so that if drug addicts are found in the society, they can be treated at police drug addiction centre.
DIG Jammu assured that traffic related problems will be resolved shortly as District Police has been directed to assist the Traffic Police during the peak hours. He also advised SSP Samba for construction of police booth in the industrial crossing road, so that local police remain present on duty during all weather. He also directed SSP Samba to arrange parking slots for heavy vehicles from NHW/SIDCO lane to other convenient places.
DIG Jammu also said that before blocking the NHW or any public road, police station or police sub division concerned should be apprised about the problem, so that their problems can be brought into the notice of department concerned. It will not only resolve the public issue in shortest possible time, but will avoid the inconvenience to the commuters.
