SRINAGAR, Aug 12: The Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of the Legislative Assembly today asked the Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) to speed up the pace of work on all prestigious Gandola projects under execution in the State including Mubarak Mandi Jammu and complete them in a stipulated time frame.
The Committee, which met under the chairmanship of MLA G. M. Saroori discussed and examined the functioning of the Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) and JKCCC.
Legislators, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, A. R. Veeri, Charnajit Singh and Asagar Hussain attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions for the improvement and making these Corporations result oriented.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues including revenue realized by these Corporations.
Earlier, Principal Secretary, Tourism Shalindera Kumar briefed the meeting about the achievements registered by the Corporation during the year 2013-14. He informed that the Cable Car has earned an amount of Rs.40 crore and carry 6.20 lakh passengers during 2013-14.
He said that Rs.18 lakh revenue has been realized by Makhdoom Sahab Ropeway from November 2013 to ending July, 2014 and carried 20,000 passengers. He said that a project cost of Jammu Ropeway at Mubarak Mandi to Bage-Bahu is Rs.40 crore.
Among others, Deputy Accountant General, J&K AG’s Office Khalid Habib, Special Secretary, Assembly M. R. Singh, Managing Director, JKTDC, Shamim Ahmad, Managing Director, Cable Car, Tufail Mattoo, General Managers of JKTDC and other officers of JKTDC, Cable Car and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
