Assembly: Four BJP MLCs attend LC wearing black ribbon, PDP MLCs stage walkout

JAMMU:   To lodge protest against ceasefire violations by Pakistan in bordering belts here, four BJP legislators on Friday attended the House proceedings by wearing black ribbons while the PDP MLC staged walkout from the Legislative Council after not being satisfied with the reply from the Government on his question.

Four BJP MLCs Ramesh Arora, Surinder Ambardar, Choudhary Vikram Randhawa and Charanjit Singh Khalsa wore black ribbons on their arms to lodge protest against heavy shelling on the borders by Pakistan.

They expressed concern over escalated border tension.

PDP MLC Surinder Choudhary raised an issue of ban on private practice of doctors serving in the government hospitals seeking list of such doctors.

Chairman Legislative Council Haji Inayat Ali asked him to take his seat but the Member expressed that he has not yet finished his question asserting that the government’s reply was not satisfactory and he wanted to raise a supplementary.

Mr Ali however, did not allow him to speak following, the annoyed member staged walkout from the Upper House. (agencies)
