Assembly adjourned after PDP members create ruckus

SRINAGAR :  The Legislative Assembly (LA) was today adjourned for about 20 minutes by Speaker Mubarak Gul after members of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stormed into the Well of the House.    Immediately after the House assembled for taking up the Quetion Hour, PDP members were on their toes demanding suspension of all business to debate adjourned motion moved by them over the situation arisen due to the insecurity among the youth over the government’s failure to grant amnesty from FIRs and cases registered against  them.
Mr Gul said members from all the parties in the House have agreed to allow the Question-Hour smoothly to discuss problems of the people.
“I have directed the government to reply on the issue in the House after Question Hour”, the Speaker said which further agitated the PDP members who wanted discussion before any reply from the government.    Mr Gul said he has sent copy of the motion to all concerned, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.    But PDP members continued to shout slogans against the government and wanted discussion.
However, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mir Saifullah intervened and said the adjournment motion of the PDP was ambiguous as it is not clear which FIR they wanted to  discuss.
