JAMMU, Oct 7: Continuing its past tradition of preserving Kashmiri Pandit cultural & religious heritage, All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) solemnized Samohik Yagnopavit of displaced Kashmiri Pandit community boys at Sharda Mata (Mandir) Trust Bantalab near here, today with all religious and spiritual gaiety.
The mass Yagnopavit ceremony, which was initiated by president ASKPC Advocate Ravinder Raina, was observed with all rituals and was attended by a large number of community members & relatives of the families involved. Elaborating on the purpose behind the holding of mass Yagnopavit ceremony, president ASKPC said the emphasis was not only in maintaining our religious traditions among the displaced youth but also in social integration of the KP community and optimal utilisation of our resources collectively.
The day long Yagnopavit ceremony commenced with the blessings of Swami Kumar Ji, who explained in depth the significance of the thread ceremony and impressed upon the newly initiated to follow the path of truth, purity and wisdom.
Among the prominent community members who blessed the youngsters and participated in the Yagnopavit were Sh. Ajay Bharti, MLC, M.L.Raina Relief Commissioner, K.K.Khosa president K.P.Sabha Amphalla, A.N.Bhatpapaji President KPS Haridwar and others.
The Yagnopavit Mahayag culminated with puranahuti and the traditional hawan and serving of prashad to all.
