JAMMU, Jan 5: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) in its meeting of Executive members here today held under the chairmanship of R K Raina discussed important issues faced by the community.
Addressing the meeting Mr Raina expressed grave concern over the non implementation of certain policies of Central Government meant for Kashmir migrants. He criticized the State Government for its failure in maintaining the age old temples and shrines in Valley maximum of which are in dilapidated condition and whose land has also been encroached by mafia groups in connivance with Revenue officials.
He demanded immediate rebuilding of holy Jawala Ji Shrine at Khrew which gutted under mysterious circumstances. He also stressed the community members on imbibing moral values among children.
Ravinder Raina dismissed the reports of poor voting by migrants’ in Assembly poll and said that despite the cumbersome and tedious process of electioneering for migrants the community members ensured more participation in election process.
Subash Chatta said that vote is a democratic right to every individual and aligning any community with any political party is not good but unethical and against the basic spirit of democracy. The meeting also discussed the arrangements for Holocaust Day falling on January 19 and S K Bhat appealed the community to participate in massive protest against the same.
