ASKPC delegation calls on RC

JAMMU, Nov 2: A delegation of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) headed by its president Ravinder Raina Advocate called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita and apprised him of various difficulties being faced by displaced Pandits from Kashmir valley.
The delegation was informed by the Relief Commissioner that orders have been issued to all Zonal office to issue one time ration coupons for the remaining months of the year and the relief holders can now collect the ration coupons without any difficulty.
The delegation also demanded renovation and repairs of main holes at TRT Nagrota, establishment of permanent ration depots and shifting of tehsil office of migrants to the inner premises of the camp were also discussed in the meeting with RC. Besides, matters regarding providing of medical facilities like deputing of doctors, supply of medicines and necessary medical equipments were also discussed with him for TRT Nagrota and other camps.
The RC assured the delegation that the water scarcity problem faced by Nagrota camp inmates will be taken on priority basis and renovation and repairs of Jagti township buildings will be taken up immediately by the concerned authorities was assured by RC.
Mr Pandita also assured the delegation about removal of hurdles and difficulties being faced by the displaced community with regard to inclusion, bifurcation of ration cards, age relaxation certificates, PRCs and RBAs as within his competence.
Raina also appealed the RC that the department should show a humane face towards the problems of migrants and no one should be put to any problem unnecessarily.
Dr T K Bhat, C L Bhat, Veena Gurtoo, S L Tikoo and Bharat Bushan Bhat (Gosani) were the other members of delegation.
