JAMMU, Jan 17: Acting swiftly, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) South Sachin Gupta today ordered suspension of an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and a constable posted with police post Nehru Market.
Identified as ASI Lal Chand and constable Aejaz Ali were spotted in a video in which they were seen looting the road side vendors in Panama Chowk area.
The video went viral on the social sites and finally taking action against them, SDPO South ordered their suspension.
“They have been directed to report to District Police Line (DPL) Jammu and deposit their uniform article in DPL Store”, the order reads.
When contacted SDPO South Sachin Gupta told the Excelsior that both the cops have been suspended as the act of these police personnel is highly objectionable and had earned bad name to the Police Department.
