JAMMU, Apr 1: In a specially convened meeting by Dogri Sanstha, Jammu for the selection of Prof. Ram Nath Shastri Memorial Award-2019, the members of jury declared ‘Cheten Di Reehl’-a collection of Dogri short stories by Ashok Dutta as the best amongst the shortlisted books for this purpose and conferred this prestigious annual award to this book.
The award will be formally given away in a ceremony to be held on April 15-the birthday of Late Padma Shri Prof. Ram Nath Shastri.
A handout stated that the award carries a cheque for Rs. 21,000, a memento and a shawl.
This will be 6th award, which was started in the year 2014 and is given annually on April 15.
This award has been instituted by the family members of Late Prof. Shastri and presented under the auspices of Dogri Sanstha, Jammu.
The handout further stated that Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Advisor to the Governor will be the chief guest on the occasion of award ceremony.
