JAMMU, Apr 10: Dr Abhinav Gupta from Department of Medicines, ASCOMS & Hospital Jammu has been selected by the European Association for Study of Diabetes (EASD) and OCDEM and attended the prestigious Robert Turner Clinical Research Course on Diabetes at Oxford Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism (OCDEM), London.
Dr Abhinav (Asstt Prof), during his research period worked under the guidance of Prof David Mathews, who is a pioneer in Homeostatic Model Assessment Method of assessing Beta Cell function and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). He also worked under the guidance of the Endocrinologists of International repute; Prof Jonathan C. Levy and Prof R Holman who are working on the latest advancement, control and cure of diabetes.
During the research period, a team led by Dr Abhinav Gupta was awarded 1st prize in clinical research unit experiments. He was also awarded a certificate of merit in Research Governance and Good Clinical Practices by Haris Manchester College, Oxford. He has been selected as a member of Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease (D&CVD) of EASD Study Group by the Executive Committee.
