ASCI provides valuable inputs in formulation of public policies : Venkaiah

HYDERABAD, Mar 7:
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday said Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) by offering management development programmes, research and advisory work to Government, industry and international agencies, has provided valuable inputs in the formulation of public policies over the years.
Interacting with the faculty of ASCI, Bella Vista here, Mr Naidu said the staff college has emerged as one of the premier institutions in capacity development of civil servants, managers and administrators in the country.
Stating that ASCI has been enjoying a very good reputation as a training institute for practicing managers since 1956 and almost every Civil Servant would undergo training in this wonderful building, the Vice President said almost all state governments and various departments in the Union Government got benefitted from ASCI’s expertise.
He said that officials and academics from various countries, including SAARC and Africa, attend ASCI’s training programmes from time to time. Stating that ASCI has been making impressive strides under the Chairmanship of Mr K Padmanabhaiah who played a pivotal role in settling long-pending issues in Jammu & Kashmir and North East, Mr Naidu said ASCI has launched many initiatives, including a two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) for the first-time last year. Every officer receiving training from ASCI must imbibe a citizen-centric and result-driven approach, which is the need of the hour to ensure inclusive growth, Mr Venkaiah said. (UNI)
