As cases rise, Admn designates Ist, 2nd referral hospitals across Kashmir

SRINAGAR, May 15: In order to further streamline the patient care across Kashmir in view of the increase in COVID-19 positive cases, the divisional administration, Kashmir today designated first and second referral hospitals.
The administration has identified hospitals in the peripheries as first referrals as well as tertiary care hospitals in Srinagar as second referrals while directing the officers in the districts to refer the patients in case of dire emergency aiming to avoid overwhelming the tertiary care system.
An order issued here by Divisional Commissioner, Pandurang K. Pole stated that in supersession of previous orders and to streamline the patient referral from Dedicated District COVID-19 Hospitals to Tertiary Care Hospitals of District Srinagar and to avoid overwhelming of tertiary care hospitals. “It has been decided that the patients can be referred to tertiary care hospitals only in case of dire emergency, as per the following arrangements that too after seeking the prior consent of the Divisional Nodal Officer, Dr Talat Jabeen on 9906540795.”
The administration has ordered that the Nodal Officers of the concerned Tertiary Care Hospitals shall furnish the daily bed occupancy/ availability to the Divisional Nodal Officer twice daily at 10 am and 5 pm positively.
As per the directives, for district Srinagar, JLNM Rainawari has been designated to be the first referral hospital and the contact person is Dr Biquees Shah, while the CD hospital has been designated as the second referral hospital and the contact person is Dr Naveed Nazir.
For district Anantnag, Trauma Hospital Bijbehara has been designated to be the first referral and the contact person has is Dr Abdul Gani, while as the GMC Anantnag has been designated to be the second referral and the contact person there is Dr Mohd Iqbal.
For Kulgam, similarly, MCH Kulgam has been designated as the first referral and the contact person there is Dr Dilawar while as GMC Anantnag has been designated as second referral where the contact person is again Dr Mohd Iqbal.
For Pulwama, DH Pulwama has been designated as the first referral and the contact person there is Dr Gowhar, while SKIMS Soura has been designated as the second referral where the contact person is Dr G H Yetoo.
For the patients of districts Shopian, DH Shopian has been designated as the first referral and the contact person is Dr Nassir, while as SKIMS Soura has been designated as second referral where the contact person is Dr G H Yetoo.
In the case of patients from North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, for them, the SDH Sopore has been identified as the first referral hospital where the contact person is Dr Shahid, while as GMC Baramulla has been designated as the second referral from them where contact person is Dr Syed Masood.
For Kupwara, SDH Langate and SDH Kupwara have been designated as first referral hospitals where the contact persons are Dr Gowhar and Dr G.N Lone respectively. For the district GMC, Baramulla has been designated as the second referral where the contact persons are Dr Syed Masood and Dr Yasir.
In the case of patients from Bandipora, Maternity Centre Sundarwani Bandipora and DH Bandipora have been designated as first referral hospitals where the contact persons are Dr Masrat Iqbal and Dr Pervaiz respectively, while as SKIMS, Bemina has been designated as second referral hospital where the contact person is Dr Susan Jalali
For Budgam, PHC Chanapora has been selected as the first referral where Dr Iqbal Fateh Khan has been designated as the contact person, while as the while as SKIMS, Bemina has been designated as second referral hospital where the contact person is Dr Susan Jalali.
For district Ganderbal, as per the directions, DH Ganderbal has been designated as the first referral hospital and the contact person there is Dr Suhail, while SKIMS Soura has been designated as the second referral hospital where the contact person is Dr G.H Yetoo.
The Divisional Administration has further ordered that out of increased bed strength at SKIMS, Soura, the Director SKIMS, Soura/Nodal Officer, SKIMS Soura shall keep (10) beds earmarked for referral patients from the above district on all days.
The CMOs of district health facilities have been ordered to ensure that no unnecessary referrals are made from the districts to the tertiary care hospitals.
