JAMMU, Sept 17: The J&K students of Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh, shone in cultural extravaganza “Rajni” organized by Aryans Group in Chandigarh, today. They presented various items showing their culture and entertained the audience.
G D Pandey, DGP cum Commmandant, Gen1, PHG and Director, Civil Defence, Punjab, was the chief guest whereas M K Bedi, ZM, Dena Bank, was the guest of honour.
Dr Anshu Kataria, chairman, Aryans Group, presided over the function. The students from all courses including B Tech, M Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, B Ed, BA, B Com, Polytechnic, Nursing of Aryans Group participated in the cultural items.
The cultural items presented by the students included Bhangra, Giddha, Western Dance, Punjabi dance, fusion, skits, mime, mimicry, Bollywood Style, folk dance, etc.
Contemporary dance was performed by Priyanka and group, Bhangra by Gurvinder and group, Salsa by Akshay and Group, Singing by Raheel and group and the Lavani by Harpreet and group. Various other performances like Bolly Fusion by Hemant and group, Comedy Circus by Piyush and Group, etc were there which made the atmosphere extremely energetic. The viewers were on their feet once again while the singers too danced while performing on stage.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anshu Kataria said that besides studies, extra co-curricular activities are equally important. They help in the overall development of the students. Cultural activities play an important role in order to reduce the stress of the students.
