JAMMU, June 7: Arya Samaj Balidaan Bhawan in Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, organized an engaging environmental awareness programme and tree plantation drive, attracting over 100 participants, including social workers, environmental enthusiasts, citizens, and students from DAV School and Shiksha Bhavan School.
The event commenced with Vedic chanting and prayers led by Vikas Shastri. Dr Pranav Ratta welcomed the gathering, emphasizing the vital need for environmental protection and urging everyone to contribute to a cleaner and greener future. The programme was anchored by Dr Ratta and Anu Gupta.
The event was graced by MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, who was welcomed and felicitated by the Core Organizing Committee, which included Dr Anita Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar, Pervesh Ratta and Yogesh Gupta. Students from DAV School and Shiksha Bhavan School presented a thought-provoking Nukkad Natak and poetry recitations to raise awareness about environmental conservation and tree plantation.
Special recognition was given to Anil Kumar and his team for their outstanding contributions to tree plantation and social service activities in the Miran Sahib area. Anil was felicitated by Narender Trehan and Ravi Kant for his dedication to environmental conservation. Rakesh Gupta was also recognized and felicitated by Deepanshu Trehan and Dr Pranav Ratta for his service in resolving public issues and supporting the community.
Active participation came from notable figures such as SSP (retd) Rajni Sehgal, Bhavya, Dr Ranjana Gupta, Dr Anil Gupta, Vishal Sharma, Deepanshu Trehan, and Kunal Gupta. Addressing the gathering, Arvind Gupta stressed the importance of collective action in protecting the environment and encouraged citizens, especially the youth, to participate in tree plantation drives and awareness campaigns.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Anita Gupta, who expressed gratitude to all guests, participants, volunteers, students, teachers, media representatives, and supporters. Attendees collectively pledged to plant more trees, maintain cleanliness, and work together for a greener and healthier future.
