JAMMU, Apr 18: Jammu West, MLA, Arvind Gupta today kick started construction of lane and drain in Ward No. 39 of the Jammu West Assembly constituency, with an estimated project cost of Rs 45 lakh.
The works have been taken up to address long-standing civic concerns in the locality, particularly issues related to damaged lanes, poor drainage, and water logging. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to significantly improve sanitation, ensure smooth movement within the area, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
Speaking at the event, Arvind Gupta reiterated his commitment to holistic development and responsive governance. He stated that the project reflects the Government’s focus on strengthening basic infrastructure at the grassroots level. “This facility will provide convenience and dignity to the local residents. We are continuously working to upgrade civic amenities and ensure that every locality in Jammu West witnesses visible development,” he said.
Arvind Gupta said, “Infrastructure development at the ward level is the foundation of a modern and progressive city. Projects like these directly impact the daily lives of people by ensuring cleaner surroundings, better connectivity, and improved public health. We are committed to ensuring that no area in Jammu West is left behind in terms of basic amenities.”
He added, “Our approach is people-centric, and every project is planned keeping in mind the genuine needs of the residents. I have directed the concerned departments to maintain high standards of quality and ensure timely completion of all works. Public feedback remains crucial, and we will continue to engage with residents to identify and resolve their concerns effectively.”
Reaffirming his commitment, Arvind Gupta said that a series of developmental works are being executed across the constituency, focusing on roads, drainage, sanitation, and other essential services to create a cleaner, healthier, and more livable Jammu West.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by BJP State treasurer, Prabhat Singh, Mandal president, Kushant Prajapati, general secretary, Mohit Vaid, along with officials from the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), including Executive Engineer, Sahil Arora, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Junior Engineer (JE), and the contractor associated with the project.
