VIJAYPUR, Aug 31: A public meeting was held at village Rara of Vijaypur Assembly segment under the leadership of senior Congress leader and member PCC, Arun Sharma.
While addressing the gathering, Arun Sharma exhorted the Congress workers to work hard for strengthening the party at booth level. We have 131 polling booths for which five member committees would be constituted soon, he announced and predicted that Ghulam Nabi Azad would be next Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Sharma said that the Congress would not forgive those who had played role in fall of Azad led coalition Government in 2008. He appealed the voters of the constituency to cast their vote in favour of Congress party to ensure victory of Sonia Gandhi’s mandate.
During the meeting, party worker highlighted several issues regarding the forthcoming Assembly elections and preparations for the same.
They made it clear that they would support only Arun Sharma as the Congress candidate from Vijaypur constituency and appealed the party high command to give mandate to the young leader, who has remained loyal to the party throughout his political career of more than twenty years.
Highlighting some local issues, the party workers hoped that all problems of the Vijaypur constituency would be solved after the election of Arun Sharma as their representative in the Assembly.
The prominent leaders, present on the occasion, included S Dalip Singh, S Shamsher Singh, S Onkar Singh, Surinder Singh, Pt Jog Raj, Bishamber Singh Slathia, Sardhari Lal, Kaka Gujjar, Rani Devi and others.
