REASI, July 17: A special checking drive was conducted by ARTO Reasi Rajesh Gupta at Katra and its adjoining areas today.
The drive along with a team of Motor Vehicle Department Reasi was conducted at Katra town, Moorie, Domail, Painthal and Karkyal.
During the drive, an amount of Rs 50,000 was realized as fine on the spot at Katra and other areas in its vicinity.
As many as 11 vehicles were challaned for violation of various rules under Motor Vehicle Act.
Earlier, a similar drive was carried out in Reasi town wherein commercial vehicles found overcharging, vehicles not displaying fare list and found committing violation of COVID related SOPs were penalized.
During the checking at Reasi, an amount of Rs 33,000 was recovered on the spot through challans issued against nine vehicles for various offences.
An amount of Rs 2000 was recovered on spot for violation of SOPs.
