BARAMULLA, Dec 16: The Additional Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) along with other officials today conducted checking of vehicles in various areas of Baramulla district and recovered a fine of Rs 80,000 from the traffic violators.
According to an official spokesperson, a team led by ARTO Baramulla, Abdul Ahad Yatoo, conducted checking of vehicles at Tangmarg-Gulmarg road in the district during which violators were fined while a number of documents were seized.
“We had received numerous complaints from locals that the drivers of public vehicles do overloading of passengers. Today, we conducted checking and fined the violators while recovered Documents and DL,” Inspector Asif Amin said adding Rs 80,000 were recovered as fine.
He said the checking of vehicles would continue in coming days and asked people particularly bikers to use helmets and avoid fast driving.
